Huge Construction Ramps Are Unworkable

Engineers recognize that earthen ramps would not be strong enough to support even the transport of core blocks, units that weigh much less than the 27-foot long construction beams. Besides, producing earthen ramps of the tremendous size needed would require far too much water to be practical. Workers had to carry water in jugs suspended from shoulder poles, so there was no viable means of carrying an enormous amount of water.

Some engineers believe that only solid masonry could provide the necessary strength needed for ramps. The ramp designs, however, proposed for the Great Pyramid would consume far too much material for solid masonry to be practical. Egyptology is left without a viable explanation for how the massive blocks could have been elevated, a topic we will explore in more detail in a later chapter.

The above excerpt gives a sense of the problem with the conventional ramp theories held by Egyptology.
